Yes, Your Corridor Etiquette Could Be Better.

Something most of us all learnt at a very young age to do. Something most of us do every day without even questioning it. Something most of us call second nature. Walking seems so simple, yet most of you reading this do not realize there is an etiquette needed, especially in public.

I am sure we have all been put in that situation where a common walker like you and I does not know their left from right or is having a lovely Sunday stroll on a high paced Tuesday. My blood is boiling just writing this especially when you have places to be and things to do. Nonetheless, here is my experienced guide so even you, who maybe do not know you do this, can learn, so you do not make someone have a hot flush early in the morning, especially at school.

Stick to your left. Sure, it might not make a ton of sense. But unless you want to unleash corridor chaos, don't be the person who tries to live on the wild side by strolling on the wild (right) side.

Keep your ears and eyes open. Sound cues play a subtle but surprisingly important role in helping you anticipate the movement of others around you, especially in a corridor. Overheard chatter and little movement around you really help you establish your position in the corridor.

Keep a good speed. Corridor traffic has a rhythm. Fall behind or simply just stop, and you'll soon find that someone is tailgating you. If you have to move slowly, stick to the sides and pull over to attend to your phone addiction or rummage in your bag.

Yes, I know it does not sound that hard to achieve these three points, but you would be surprised by how many of us corridor walkers would just simply get this wrong. I hope these very few tips find you well in the future of having a less high tensioned corridor.
