I Have a Surprise For You on This Fine Easter Day

Today is Easter, my favorite holiday. It‘s exciting that this is the first Easter in the new trap house. It also just so happens that it’s Colby and mine’s fifth Easter together. I can’t wait to see what today brings for everyone. It's just a very happy day. 

As I finish putting on my cute sky blue dress with white polka dots, Colby comes sleepily stumbling into our closet. He smiles and hugs me, then kisses my cheek. 

“Hmm, mornin’ babe,” he says sleepily.

“Good morning to you too,” I say and smile as he pulls a nice sky blue shirt over his head, specifically the one I bought him for today. 

“So, what’s on the agenda for quarantined Easter, baby?” I ask and he chuckles. 

“Well, babe, Sam said we’re going to do a beer hunt, which should be fun. Then I have a little surprise for you as well,” He hugs me from behind and nuzzles his head into the crook of my neck.

“Oh! A surprise! I can’t wait,” I say as I cuddle back into him and he sways us back and forth for a bit. 

“I love you, Cole,” I say and he hums into my neck. 

“I love you too, angel. Thank you for spending five Easters with me,” he says and I giggle as his breath tickles my neck. 

“No, thank you,” I say and he just smiles. 

“Shouldn’t you finish getting ready, babe?” I say and push him away. I walk to my new vanity that Colby had put in the room for me, but as he says ‘for his queen’.

“Babe, have you seen my shorts?!” I hear him lightly shout from our big closet. 

“Third drawer to the right, sweetie! Sorry I moved them again,” I say and he walks into the room pulling up his shorts. 

“You and your constant reorganizing….” he says and kisses my cheek. 

“Is there something wrong with always needing perfection?” I fake a hurt tone, and he shakes his head. 

“Nope, nothing wrong with it angel. I love it actually, because it’s just… well, you,” he says and I break out into a smile. 

When I’m finished with my small amount of makeup, I stand up and walk over to him. He smiles and kisses me, making me giggle with happiness. We then hear a knock on our door and Sam pops his head in. 

“Everyone decent?” He asks with closed eyes, causing me and Colby to laugh. 

“Yeah, dude, you're safe. Everyone in this room is decent for the time being,” Colby says and pockets his phone from his bedside table. 

“Whew! That’s good. I do not need to see Colby or y/n nakes again!” He says and his eyes widen. 

“That came out sounding terrible….” he says as me and Colby laugh at him. 

“I get what you meant though, brother. You’re good,” Colby says and grabs my hand. 

“Anyway….. we’re just about to start some beer pong. Wanna play?” Sam asks and Colby and I giggle. 

“What about me, Samantha?” I say and he just points a finger at me. 

“You said you wouldn’t call me that again!” He says and lays his head on the door with a sigh. 

“Sorry Samantha, I couldn’t help myself! It’s your fault for bringing her back to life in Colb's recent TikTok!” I say and he just looks at Colby. 

“See, I told you this would come back to bite me in the ass,” Sam groans and Colby just shrugs. 

“So do you guys wanna come play beer pong?” Sam asks again and we nod. 

“Let me just grab my phone. I'll be down in a minute,” I say and Colby nods. 

Colby kisses me one last time, then walks downstairs with Sam. I go over and grab my phone, taking it off the charger making it come to life with my background picture of me and Colby:

I remember when Jake took that. We had fallen asleep on a friend's couch and he thought it was cute, so he took the picture. I thought it was a very cute picture of us and made it my lockscreen. 

I shake my head and smile down at the picture, then close my phone. I shove it into my dress pocket and leave our room. 

I go down to the kitchen area and everyone is just hanging around while Sam and Colby play against Jake and Corey. I walk over to Kat, who’s over talking to Tara and we do a little handshake that we had made up. 

We all hang out for a while and play beer pong for a majority of the time. After the boys get bored with playing, Sam claps his hands together. 

“Who’s ready for the beer hunt?” Sam asks and all the guys smile. 

“I’m not drinking today, besides the beer pong so I’ll hide them if you’d like,” I say and Sam nods, handing me three packs. 

“I’ll help her,“ Kat says and giggles when he hands her two packs. 

“This will be fun!” Kat says and I giggle. 

The guys all go hide somewhere where they can’t see the backyard and we get started. We first go off on our own ways, hiding some on our own. 

I hide one on one of the rocks of the pool then I hide a couple around the basketball court. That’s where me and Kat meet up again. We then give each other a sinister smile as if we have the same idea. 

We decide to hide one somewhere in the pool so they have to get wet to get it, how we did it is beyond me. We then decide to hide one on the roof of the canopy. 

“Ok, how are we gonna make this work?” Kat wonders and I giggle. 

“How about I get on your shoulders and I can put it up there?” I say and she nods. 

We hide that one and giggle quietly. Then we have one last one and try to figure out where to put it. 

“How about we put it just behind the fence?” Kat suggests and I shrug. 

We finished hiding them all and went back into the house to go find the guys. 

“Ok, we’re done, guys!” Kat and I announce.

The guys go out and start looking around. They find half of them except for the last two, making us girls laugh. Tara sees the one on top of the canopy and gasps lightly. She comes over to us and speaks quietly. 

“How’d you guys do that?” She asks and we giggle. 

“I basically climbed Kat….” I say and she bursts out laughing. The guys look over and she just waves at them for them not to pay attention to her as she laughs. 

A few minutes later, Corey falls into the pool trying to get the one that we hid in the pool. We die of laughter as he comes up for air. 

“Got it!” He says not even realizing he’s all wet till….

“Hey! I’m all wet! Awe man, I’m in my good shoes too!” He says and us girls crack up laughing at him. 

“Wait, how'd you even get this bottle in here without getting wet?!” He says and me and Kat just shrug. 

Eventually they find the one on the roof and they all fight to get it. 

Sam finally gets the beer down and does a happy “in-your-face” dance, causing us to all laugh. 

When the beer hunt is over, we all go inside while still laughing. We talked for a while and then I noticed that someone had disappeared from the group. 

“Hey guys, where’d Colbs go?” I ask as I look around and they all shrug. 

I then go looking for him. I check our room, Sam’s, the movie room, and everywhere else. I have no luck in finding him and I sit down for a second. 

The backyard! It’s the last place we all were! 

I get up and jog lightly to the backyard. I walk out the back door and look around, not seeing him anywhere. A few minutes later he walks out of the side gate and my family is following him. He sees me and smiles at me when he sees me smiling from ear to ear. 

“What’s all this?” I ask as I hug my younger brother and sister. 

“Well angel, I’ve put together a little egg hunt for you and your family. I know you’ve been missing them like crazy with this quarantine, and these two don’t really get a full Easter, so…….” he says as he ruffles my little brother Tony’s hair. 

They have been very close since Colby and I started to date and it’s the most adorable thing ever. Colby is literally always willing to do anything with my younger siblings and it’s just too adorable. 

“Awe baby! Thank you so, so much!” I say and leave the hug with my dad to go hug Colby. 

“You’re welcome, angel, anytime,” he says then pulls away from the hug and claps his hands. 

“Ok, let’s get started! The eggs are already hidden. Sam and I hid them this morning. Here’s a bucket….” Colby says, handing it to me. 

“Oh I’m participating?” I ask, confused as I grab the bucket from him. 

“Yup,” he says, popping the p sound. 

“Ok,” I say and giggle. 

“Ok, so baby there’s a special egg out there for you. It’s blue with small hints of orange. When you find it, bring it over to me,” Colby says and kisses my cheek, making me giggle. 

“Ok. Will do babe,” I promise.

My brother, my baby sister, my oldest sister and I go and look around for eggs. We find a lot and now I’m just looking for the “specific” egg that’s “special”. 

I wonder why it’s so special?

Eventually I find it sitting in the easiest place ever, the bar right next to the grill. I giggle and pick it up, my little brother sees and smiles from ear to ear. 

“Colby! Colby! She found it!!” My little brother shouts jumping up and down. 

“She did now, did she?” Colby asks as he gets up from sitting and talking with my parents. He sets his drink down then walks over to us and picks up Tony. 

“Well, babe? Did you find it?” He says and I giggle, holding it up. He takes it from me and sets Tony down. 

Tony runs over to our mom and she picks him up. Colby grabs my hand and all the people that were in the trap house come outside. Colby pulls me over to the grass area and I giggle. 

“Babe, you make everyone around you, especially me, happy. We’ve had our bumps in our story, but we've stuck together nonetheless. Warning baby girl, I’m getting sappy here. I love you and it will always be you. I’ve loved the last five years with you and I couldn’t ask for anyone better to be by my side as I grow old,” he says and I gasp as he gets down on one knee. 

He throws the egg to the side and pulls a blue velvet box out of his pocket as I start to cry. He opens the box and I see a beautiful diamond ring, making me gasp. I smile through the tears streaming down my face as he grabs my hand with his hand that isn’t holding the box. 

“Baby, y/n y/m/n y/l/n. Will you do me that honor and marry me? Be with me for the rest of our days?” He asks and I nod while crying. 

He smiles and slips the ring on my finger. He stays on the ground for a moment, just looking up at me. He kisses my hand and that’s when I pull him up off the ground. 

“Wel-” he doesn’t finish his sentence as I pull him in for a long kiss. 

When we pull away my family and our friends congratulate us with hugs and whatnot.

It’s a few hours later now and I’m now sitting at my vanity, humming to myself as I brush out my hair. 

I’m the happiest girl in the world today. 

Colby comes up behind me as I put my brush down and he rubs my shoulders. I smile up at him, then hold up the finger with the ring on it. 

“Do you like it, angel?” Colby asks and I nod. 

“It’s beautiful. Thank you babe,” I say and stand up from my vanity seat. He pulls me into a hug and I wrap myself around him. 

He carries me to the bed and lays us down, I instantly cuddle into his side. 

“Good night, my beautiful fiancee,” Colby says and kisses my nose. I scrunch my nose up and he smiles then kisses my forehead next. 

“Goodnight my handsome fiancé,” I say and snuggle closer to him.

“Man, I can’t believe you’re mine angel,” he says while kissing the side of my head. 

“Well believe it my lovely, because I am. I’m all yours,” I say and he smiles at me. “Thank you for today, my love. It was the best Easter we’ve ever spent together,” I say and he smiles while rubbing my arm. 

“You’re welcome, my angel,” He says and I snuggle closer, if that’s even possible, before we both fall into a peaceful sleep in each other’s arms.
